AMATA 2008 is the Annual Conference of AMATA, the Australasian Microarray and Associated Technologies Association. The Australasian Microarray Society (AMATA) is a strong advocate of new technologies and the introduction of new applications or advances in those already in common use.
The AMATA meetings are typically attended by over 150 scientists, many with high profiles and leadership roles in the general scientific community. This meeting has an excellent reputation as a forum for exchange of information and technology know-how, and THE avenue to introduce new Microarray and Associated Technologies into Australasia.
The Dunedin Meeting dates are: November 11-15, 2008, the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, right on the Octagon in the centre of the City, with an all-day Biocondutor/Limma Workshop at the University on the Saturday. The format is that of an opening Oration, Symposia sessions with keynote presentations, Exhibition, Poster sessions and Lunchtime Workshops.
AMATA meetings attract a highly focussed audience of scientists actively engaged in developing and establishing genomic technologies from both the academic and service sectors.Research topics for this conference include: gene expression, functional genomics and proteomics, Systems biology and the application of next generation sequencing technologies.
Our international speakers presently confirmed, include:
- Professor Joe Sambrook, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
- Professor Rebecca Doerge, Director, Statistical Bioinformatics Center, Purdue University
